It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved founder and owner, Melton “Cowboy” Terrell. Melton was more than just the visionary behind Mountain Top Flea Market — he was its spirit, its heartbeat, and a dear friend to so many who walked through our gates.
​
What began as his dream decades ago grew into one of the South’s most recognized flea markets, a place where families, friends, and neighbors could gather, shop, and share in community. Melton built Mountain Top not just as a marketplace, but as a tradition — one that has touched countless lives over the years. His dedication never wavered. From the very first days to his final years, he worked tirelessly to ensure that Mountain Top Flea Market remained a place where everyone felt welcome.

While we grieve his passing, we also celebrate his extraordinary life and the joy he brought to so many. Mountain Top Flea Market will continue to carry forward his legacy, honoring the foundation he built and the community he loved so deeply.
